Amaterasu

Okami is the best game you've never played -- and it's entirely your fault. You didn't buy it when it was originally released on the PS2, you didn't buy it when it was re-released on the PS2 and you didn't buy it when it was re-re-released on the Wii. Shame on you. You broke Clover and now we'll never have original games like theirs again. Enjoy your never ending sequels and cookie cutter games.

This model is a victim of very odd unfold decisions. Personally, I would have unfolded the body into closed cylinders instead of having opposite faces on the same part without the faces that join them (meaning, the top and bottom faces are on the same part, the left and right faces are on a different part). There was really no reason for that 90% of the time, seeing as nothing on this model is so complex. It wouldn't have been bad if there was some kind of rhythm to it, but it seemed entirely random.

Also, the lack of part division made it very awkward; for example, the divine protector (the disc on her back) is part of the piece that makes both one side of one of her hind legs and her back, instead of a piece built separately and attached later on. This made it hard to deal with her back because the disc was in the way all the time. One of her tails is actually attached to her hind leg. Why?

As a side note, asking someone to fold a 2mm dodecahedron is insane; I refused to have any part of that.

I think that the best way to unfold this would be to have the head, legs, body, tails, divine protector and sword separately and then join everything at the end, not have half of everything attached to each other and then add in the missing faces.

There is another pattern floating around that looks more like the original in-game model, but that one is just her standing there; this pose is much more dynamic. I think this pattern just needed better unfolding and to be scaled up 5cm or so; it feels like this was never test-built and just released into the wild.
